Marine Park Wildflower Walk with Zihao Wang
Time & Location
About the event
Marine Park is the largest city-owned park in Brooklyn. Over half of its 798 acres is coastal forest, grasslands and salt marsh. We'll explore the maritime shrubland and successional maritime forest habitats on the western side of the park. We'll see sumacs, black cherry, bayberry, switchgrass and groundsel, representing a unique forest type in NYC. Some sections are dominated by invasive species such as black locust, Asiatic bittersweet, Phragmites, callery pear and mugwort.
Directions: Meet at 10:00 am at the corner of Gerritsen Ave. and Seba Ave. at the benches at the Seba Ave Skate Park.
